St. Vincent "Landmines"
november 2
It changes from night to night, but tonight, I wish I lived in New York City. My cousin Janelle told me stories over muffled phone lines, of halloween parades and shows in Brooklyn, where Sufjan Stevens made the line-up, and St. Vincent played, aka Annie Clark, who used to play guitar for him and polyphonic spree. We discussed music, and our dysfunctional relationships. She’s hilarious, and always amazes me. I miss my mom, and the fact that my blog never makes sense anymore, and has nothing to do with anything.
I am.....
+generally content with my plebian lifestyle
+reading aaron weiss blog archives via online
+in bed with my laptop, trying to type with it resting on my knees
+frustrated with my inability to be productive in/with my studies
I wish....
+I lived in the city, where there would be more people who make art and music and could possibly inspire me from a closer distance than where i’m currently at
+I was home, and could walk down to the end of pismo pier, watch the moonlight dance on the water, or the tide turn over, just breathe the ocean air to clear my head a bit
+I was listening to jazz, live, sitting in a back booth on my lonesome is some obscure smoky club
+I knew I was going places with my art
+I lived in Tokyo
+Chard still lived across the street
+I did my devotionals more regularly
+I was more articulate about everything
