Cold War Kids "Every Man I Fall For"
october 12

For my Print Production class, we are silkscreening shirts. He says we can do any design we want in 1 color, and do as many prints as we'd like to as well.
Some guy named Scott I met at the park the other day asked me what I wanted to do with Graphic Arts. I thought about it awhile and realized that I could do quite a bit. I am free to promote whatever I wish. This realization of freedom was empowering and a bit frightening. I want the things I promote to be of substance and meaning. I'm scared of misrepresenting or poorly articulating. I am not very good at any of these things. I want to do them well.
My friend Nikki gave me "Blue Like Jazz" to read this summer, and I remember sitting on the airplane on the way to Germany, the page blurring with tears, "The problem is me." I AM THE PROBLEM!
I am tired of hypocrisy, secrecy, apathy. I am tired of being defensive and hurt and hurting others. Change can only start with the individual. So, i'll wear this with hopes to promote a humble confession and sincere apology, that in my humanity, I am weak, but He is strong.
If you want one too, let me know.
